Deemed the Oscars of the food world, by Time magazine, The James Beard Foundation Awards are the countrys most coveted honor for chefs; food and beverage professionals; broadcast media, journalists, and authors working on food; and restaurant architects and designers.

The Del Maguey Cocktail Competizione Italia is a competition featuring bartenders from across Italy who were challenged to create the official Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal cocktail for the 20th anniversary celebration in the country. Each entrant's cocktail had to be featured on a working, existing restaurant or bar cocktail program and could be made with any Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal. Finalist was chosen from a pool of entries coming from all corners of Italy. Come see them compete live in Rome on June 2nd at La Punta - Agaveria.

The Great Match: Wine Food Design, a Spanish walk-around tasting tour, will return to New York City. This year, Sherry will be present in a big way -- with a Sherry seminar by César Saldaña himself, a Sherry table during the walk-around tasting featuring wines from every region in Spain and food by local chefs, and finally with Taberna Jerez, a complete Sherry experience during the consumer tasting that evening, featuring Sherry, Sherry cocktails, jamon, and more.

The Copa Jerez USA Finals is a competition featuring chef and sommelier teams commissioned with choosing the ultimate match of Sherry wines with food. The winning team of the competition will represent the United States in the International Copa Jerez in Jerez, Spain in 2017. The International Copa Jerez is a competition featuring chefs and sommeliers from Europe, Asia, and North America, each team commissioned with choosing the ultimate match of Sherry wines with food.

BAR (Beverage Alcohol Resource) will return to NYC to hold its 5-day Intermediate Certificate Program. BAR is an independent organization whose program instructs attendees not only about the details and techniques necessary to be a competent maker of mixed drinks, but likewise about the pedigree and use of all the fine distilled spirits that act as the base spirits for cocktails. BARs mission is to educate, guide, and propagate the healthy, enlightened, and responsible use of beverage alcohol products. The school is in a unique position to create and teach a series of courses that will not just train, but actually educate those who take them, be they service industry professionals, members of the media, or curious consumers.
